Malatang (麻辣烫, málàtàng), “spicy hotpot,” is an easily recognized food trend in China. It is essentially hotpot cooked to your liking with your chosen ingredients (meat, vegetables and noodles). If you haven’t tried hotpot before, you may understand this dish as a noodle soup in a deep-flavor, delicious broth with your chosen ingredients.
What makes this dish so popular is the broth the ingredients are cooked in. It’s a thick, savory broth that is full of umami, so you can imagine anything that is cooked in this broth is going to soak up all the flavors. We have a veggie broth which is suitable for vegetarians.
At YGF Malatang Dublin 杨国福麻辣烫, we’re not just good at cooking ingredients in our delicious broth. We also make dumplings, steamed buns and savory pancakes in house. It’s definitely not something easy to come by in the heart of Dublin. We are indeed one of the very few authentic Chinese restaurants in town and the only malatang restaurant in Dublin and even Ireland.
